The American Gentleman was founded in 2014 by Barrett and Jonathan because they wanted to promote the revival of high quality, stylish products made in America. Not only does this support the revitalization of local economies and create jobs, it instills a sense of pride in our great nation that many have lost or forgotten.
Our goal is to deliver high quality men's clothing and accessories from small brands around the country (each product we carry must be made in America) in one, easy-to-navigate location. These companies are working with us because we represent a new market, the Midwest, where they have little to no brand recognition as well as an additional voice advocating the benefits of supporting products that are made in America.
Our value to the customer will be both the curated style that samples from east coast and southern lifestyles with Midwest tweaks and the single source for supporting high-quality American-made products. Each of our partners has a great story to tell and is something the customer can feel good about supporting. Today there isn't a great place to find American-made clothing and accessories in one place - it requires quite a bit of effort to find all the pieces required to complete and maintain a stylish wardrobe....which for many guys is too much effort.
Our target audience is the Midwest professional who likes to dress well for all occasions and takes pride in the fact that his clothing is made in America (a movement that is gaining traction and which we hope to strengthen). Our customers are the same individuals shopping at other high-end retailers today, who would rather support American Made products if they knew where to find them.

Barrett grew up in Chicago, IL and graduated from Millikin University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

Jonathan grew up in Green Bay, WI - home to America's Pack - and graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison where he was a member of the Evans Scholars. He's a fan of keeping traditions and starting new ones, golf, the great outdoors and looking good no matter what you are getting into.
